Membership to the APDT consists of three parts - written, practical and oral. The written part covers reward and punishmanet in training, operant and classical conditioning, equipment, stress and various exercises you would teach.

The parctical part consists of teaching a one hour class to six dogs and their owners, assuming that at least one owner has no knowledge. Several different methods of teaching three exercises will need to be shown. Part of the assessment will be Kerry's ability to make class participants feel welcome, involved and at ease. And finally, the oral.
